The party cadres led by Veera, the North Zone Secretary covered themselves in mosquito nets to garner the attention og the officials and also highlight the plight of the residents living in the area.

"On behalf of the 400 families living in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in Vadavalli, we have submitted a petition to the District Collector highlighting the plight of the people who live in distraught due to the reckless act of dumping wastes on the burial ground in the area", said Veera.
The petition stated that since construction waste was also being dumped, the burial ground has been infested with snakes and other venomous reptiles which could endanger lives in the area. Hence, residents in the area have sought immediate action against those who dump waste as well as measures to clear the area of all waste.
