Coimbatore: In a tragic accident, the City Corporation's Assistant City Planning Officer (East Zone) was killed in a road accident near Karumathampatti on Saturday.
According to reports, Manoharan left to Chennai for work and was returning to Coimbatore this morning. When his car reached near Karumattampatti police station, the vehicle lost control and crashed into a container lorry.
The Assistant City Planning Officer Manoharan, who was seated in the passenger side died on the spot. While the driver of the car, Yesudas sustained grievously injuries and was rushed to a private hospital.
Following this, the Karumathampatti police recovered Manoharan's body and sent it to Government Hospital for an autopsy.
A case has been registered and investigations are on.
