CCMC Commissioner inspects shops in Poo Market area; 140 kg of banned plastic bags seized

Coimbatore : During a surprise inspection by Corporation Commissioners, J. Sravan Kumar on Friday, 140 kg of banned plastic covers were seized from Poo market area here.

Coimbatore : During a surprise inspection by Corporation Commissioners, J. Sravan Kumar on Friday, 140 kg of banned plastic covers were seized from Poo market area here. 

A total fine of Rs.1,43,400 was levied to the shop keepers and traders who had stocked banned plastic covers. 



The Commissioner inspected over 50 shops in Poo Market area which falls under the West Zone and examined the covers and packing materials used by them. He also interacted with the traders and educated them on the ill effects of using banned plastic products. 

He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner of West Zone, AJ Senthil, Regional Health Inspector, Gunasekaran and other Corporation staff.
