“Power Pivot tools in Microsoft Excel can act as a pulse in corporate firms”, says S.Murugappan, analytical expert

Coimbatore: Dr S. Murugappan, an Analytical expert and a professor in Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, presented today on Microsoft Excel's Power Pivot tools which is very essential for data management, modelling and analytics. The audience involved professors, business professionals, researchers have attended this lecture at the CMA Hall, Racecourse road.

The audience involved professors, business professionals, researchers have attended this lecture at the CMA Hall, Racecourse road.



After a brief explanation on Excel sheets and Power Pivot tools, Murugappan practically explained the tools by showing some models he had created, many queries on how to manage various types of calendars, how to have a custom date format and the difference between normal tools and power pivot tools. Murugappan said, ”Corporate organizations and firms are in need of a proper database on both analytical and historical data storage aspects. With the Power pivot tools data can be easily stored, calculated and analyzed from scratch to end. Crossing the period of bosses bossing us for data and details, their subordinates can strongly demand on the data for maintenance but the subordinates must be trained in such a way.” 

Ananthapadmanabhan from KMCH hospitals praised Dr. S Murugappan about his presentation of power pivot tools, ”In my opinion, people like Murugappan are national treasures there are very few people like him. Excel is fundamental for any records management, before the advent of IoT (Internet of things) itself data were stored and processed successfully. I value Murugappan because he excels as an analytical expert and as a professor in this field.”
