According to sources, five goats belonging to a farmer named Raja from Emagundu went missing. While he had searched for the goats in a private tea estate near the Kattaabettu Forest Range, he had found one of his goats lying dead.
While another goat was seriously injured, three goats were missing. He immediately lodged a complaint with forest officials who inspected the spot and confirmed the presence of a leopard in the area.
This has instilled fear among local farmers who had requested the department to catch the leopard using a cage.
