Coimbatore: The AIADMK is reportedly reeling with shock after the announcement of Narendra Modi's Cabinet.
The BJP emerged victorious in the 17th Lok Sabha elections with an overwhelming majority of 353 seats. After Ram Nath Govind, the President of India invited the BJP to form the Government, Narendra Modi pledged and took the oath of secrecy as the Prime Minister of India for the second time led by the President.
Along with him, 58 other ministers like Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Sadananda Gowda, Nirmala Sitharaman, Ramvilas Paswan, Narendra Singh Tomar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Ramesh Pokhriyal, Arjun Munda and Smriti Zubin Irani took oath as the Cabinet Ministers. But surprisingly, none from the AIADMK featured among the 58 ministers.
Ravindranath Kumar, son of the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, O.P.S Paneerselvam was the only AIADMK candidate to win. He won from the Theni constituency. AIADMK had pinned its hopes of marking its presence in the Cabinet on Ravindranath Kumar and Vaidhyalingam but apparently both of them were overlooked.
