Coimbatore: Over 100 employees of the District Pricol Workers’ Union on Thursday staged a demonstration here condemning the Pricol management, alleging that the management failed to abide by the Government Order (G.O) No. 221 and 222 given under the Sections 10 (1) and 10 B of the Industrial Disputes Act.

The protesting employees jointly alleged that the management denied entry to 294 employees which is against Section 10 (B). They also cited that the Madras High Court on March 6 stayed the dismissal orders of the 294 employees and a GO was issued on May 3 halting the transfer of 294 employees.

"In this scenario, while the case is referred to the Industrial Tribunal, the Pricol Management continues to act against the law. Hence, we have decided to gather people and political parties and stage a massive demonstration in front of the Pricol unit in Periyanaickenpalaya, shortly," apprised Jayaprakash Narayanan, the State Secretary of AITUC. He also demanded legal action against the Pricol Management for not adhering to the Industrial Disputes Act.
