Coimbatore: Nagarajan, a resident of M.V.M Nagar, Dindigul filed a police complaint on Karthik, a resident of Uppilipalayam and Chakravarthy, an employee at Coimbatore Institue of Technology (CIT) for forging a fake admission order for MS Ortho in Annamalai University. The duo fleeced Rs. 70 lakhs, promising his son Vishnu Vardhan (MBBS) an MS Ortho seat.
Coimbatore: Nagarajan, a resident of M.V.M Nagar, Dindigul filed a police complaint on Karthik, a resident of Uppilipalayam and Chakravarthy, an employee at Coimbatore Institue of Technology (CIT) for forging a fake admission order for MS Ortho in Annamalai University. The duo fleeced Rs. 70 lakhs, promising his son Vishnu Vardhan (MBBS) an MS Ortho seat.
Nagarajan was introduced to Karthik by his relative Sanjeev Raj who had assured that his son will obtain an MS Ortho seat with the favour of the Vice-Chancellor of Annamalai University, and instructed him to hand over Rs.70 lakhs in cash to Chakravarthy. Trusting his relative completely, Nagarajan transferred Rs.10 lakhs to the account of Chakravarthy's wife Sakunthala and the remaining 60 lakhs to Karthik and Chakravarthy, personally.
The duo reportedly handed him an admission order issued from Annamalai University. On approaching the University for admission procedures, Nagarajan was told that it was fake. He then called up Karthik and Nagarajan to return his money but was threatened to be killed by the duo
Based on the complaint filed by Nagarajan, the Police Commissioner Sumit Saran ordered Asst. Commissioner Perumal to oversee the probe. Inspector Nagarajan and his team arrested Karthik and Chakravarthy's wife Sakunthala and handed them over to the Court. The police have launched a man-hunt for Chakravarthy who is absconding.
