It was just six months ago that the Tirupur police had arrested 16 Bangladeshi youth and imprisoned them for allegedly staying in the city without proper documents. A similar incident has occurred again with 19 Bangladeshi youth arrested for residing in Tirupur without legal documents.
In this scenario, a complaint relating to migrant workers from Bangladesh faking their ID proof was being reported by the residents of Athimara Thottam of Sirupooluvapatti Village in Tirupur. On investigation, it has been found out that these Bangladeshi youth had arrived from Bangladesh to West Bengal on a boat secretly, made fake Aadhaar cards for themselves and then begun working in a knitwear company.
All 19 Bangladeshi youth including Suman, Sameem and Abdul Kalam were arrested for not having genuine Aadhaar cards and passports. The Tirupur police told the media that those arrested will be taken to the Chennai Bullion Jail.
