Coimbatore: V P Kandasamy from AIADMK who polled 10,113 votes more than Pongalur N Palanisamy of DMK in the Sulur by-polls held on May 19, took oath as the MLA representative of Sulur, on Wednesday.
All the AIADMK MLAs who won in the by-polls took oath and were sworn-in as MLAs in the presence of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami and the Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam today in Chennai.
Amidst a tough fight, the AIADMK retained the Sulur Assembly constituency in which by-polls were held after the death of incumbent R Kanagaraj, who died of cardiac arrest.
