Coimbatore: Corporation officials along with local planning authority sealed the 2600 sq ft showroom of Saravana Selvarathinam store at oppanakara street on Wednesday morning.
Citing high court order to seal the premises for flouting building norms, the officials intiated the process and sealed the showroom.
The five-storey building has flouted norms by using the car parking into a godown and leaving no common space at each floor, allege activists who filed a case at the Madras High court. The Court on March 12 ordered to seal the building.

The activists have mentioned that the store has flouted norms and construction has been done beyond the approved level.
Following this officials from local planning authority and CCMC sealed the store today morning. A notice has been pasted at the entrance of the store denying public entry.
Tense situation prevailed at the store, as the employees resisted when officials tried to seal the building. However, after police intervention, the officials managed to accomplish the task.
