Coimbatore: Dr. Rajeshwari, a resident of New Siddhapudhur is currently running a hospital at Sivanandhapuram. However, she had been searching for land for constructing a hospital building. Rajendran, the son of Palanisami who is a resident of Sivanandhapuram, showed her his building of 1.5 cents on Madalayam Road in the same area.

On the pretext of selling her that building, he had reportedly taken Rs. 32,50,000 from Dr. Rajeshwari. He had also showed her a building near the land for her to run her hospital and took a lease amount of Rs.70,000 for the same from her. After delaying the sale process for a few months, Rajendran apparently told Dr. Rajeshwari that he had decided to gift land to his sister-in-law, Savithri.
When Dr. Rajeshwari demanded that her money be returned to her, she was reportedly threatened by Rajendran, his wife and Savithri, residents of NGGO colony. Based on the complaint filed by Dr. Rajeshwari, the Police Commissioner Sumit Saran ordered Asst. Commissioner Perumal to oversee the probe. Inspector Nagarajan and his team arrested Rajendran and Savithri today and handed them over to the court.
