Coimbatore: In a heart-wrenching tragedy, a three-year-old was found dead on Monday near Saravanampatti. Initial reports point that the child is suspected to have been murdered by her mother along with her illicit lover.
The three-year-old is the daughter of Balraj and Roopini, residents of Velliyankadu, Karamadai. Upon investigation, it was found out that the child's mother was involved in an extra-marital affair with a person named Tamil Selvan.
It is alleged that Tamil Selvam reportedly took the child to a secluded place and thrashed her to death. The police had arrested Sridevi's mother while Tamil Selvam is reported to have absconded.
Based on the orders of Sumit Saran, the Commissioner of Police and Balaji Saravanan, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, a special squad headed by the Asst.Commissioner of Police, Somasundaram including Inspector Gandhi, Sub-inspectors Bharathi Raja and Ayyasamy have launched a search to nab the absconding murderer.
