Coimbatore: Dinesh (29), son of Vellingiri, a resident of Karamadai who worked in a private firm had accompanied his friends on Sunday for a swim in the pond near the Karamadai water refinery station. As per reports, it is said that he was swimming in the deep part of the pond when his friends noticed that he was drowning. They immediately called neighbours in the area for help who informed the police about the incident.

Dinesh's corpse was retrieved only today since it had already turned dark yesterday when police had arrived on the scene. The corpse has been sent to the Mettupalayam Government Hospital for post-mortem.
