Afzal, a resident of Sundarapuram works as a storekeeper in a private concern in Puliakulam. A father of two children, Afzal claimed to have consumed pesticides because his wife was refusing to live with him. Based on this information, the police rushed him to the Government Hospital where the doctors refuted Afzal's claim after medically examining him. Afzal returned to the Collector's office again to petition the Collector to help him sort out family differences and convince his wife to live with him and the children.
