The tree that fell right on the middle of the road halted the traffic towards Sungam from Avinashi Road.
Vehicle users had to steer their vehicle on the opposite side and larger vehicles had to take take a detour, as there was only limited space for them to move.
Officials had been informed and they are trying to remove the tree debris from the road.
