Celebrating the victory, various banners were put up congratulating the CPI (M) and the SMK allies, as well as thanking voters in Tiruppur. One particular banner was put up just before the Chellandiamman temple near the Tiruppur Bridge by the 44th ward youth wing office bearer, Riaz.
The 10 ft in height and 40 ft width banner had pictures and names of various DMK officials. However, the name of the ex-Councillor and the present DMK Secretary, Hussain was missing. On perceiving the oversight, Hussain destroyed the banner in a fit of rage. Later, a small banner mentioning just the CPI victory was raised up.
