Makkal Needhi Maiam candidate, Mookambika Rathinam continues to hold the third position by securing 59,693 votes. Sitting MP Mahendran of AIADMK has secured 3,78,347 votes.
Shanmugasundaram received his winning certificate from the election officer amidst party cadres. The party cadres rejoiced the victory by distributing sweets and bursting crackers.
