In an outrageous act of murder, two people were killed in a scuffle between two gangs at a liquor shop in Podanur on Monday.
John Britto (28), resident of Sriram Nagar Podanur was with his friends at a liquor shop in midnight yesterday. Under the influence of alcohol, he ended up in a heated argument with his friends with another gang at the bar.
The gang followed John to his place and had a dispute with his parents and then attacked John and his friend Godwin Raj with a knife. John died on the spot, and the nearby people found Godwin Raj in a critical state and admitted him in a private hospital. He was undergoing treatment in the ICU and later succumbed to his injuries.
A special team has been formed under the supervision of Balaji Saravanan, Deputy Commissioner (law & order) to nab the murderers.
