Coimbatore : The Madras High Court offered conditional bail to two accused including the Coimbatore Diocese Bishop in the case involving the clash of two parties that arose during the appointment of Head Master for the CSI Boys Higher Secondary School in Town Hall.

The bail was offered after Bishop Timothy Ravinder and Charles Samraj sought the court after a case was filed against them at the Race Course Police Station following a clash.

According to police, the duo was involved in a clash during the appointment of a HM for the school last month. The review meeting went ugly when two groups started hurling objects at each other.

Charles Samraj was hurt during the meeting and was admitted at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. Based on a complaint he gave, police registered a case and arrested Prince Ernest (41), John Kamalesh (34) both from Coimbatore and Kaviraj George (46) from the Nilgiris district.

The opposition team also gave a complaint against the Bishop’s team and four people including the Bishop, Charles Samraj, Treasurer David Mangala Doss and Bakkiyanathan, Bishop’s assistant were booked. While David Mangala Doss and Bakkiyanathan were arrested, the other two were absconding.

They then sought a bail from the Madras High Court, which offered them based on conditions of not involving in such acts again, offer Aadhar ID and Passbook details to the Magistrate, be available for enquiry whenever needed and not go out of station.
