The Nilgiris : The five-day Ooty Flower Show which commenced on May 17 has witnessed a total of 60,600 tourists on May 17-18.
According to official reports, around 24,671 and 35,984 tourists had visited on the first two days of the most sought event in Tamil Nadu.
The 123rd flower show was held at Botanical Garden, in Ooty, Nilgiris District. Multiple counters were created to issue tickets. The pavements leading to the botanical garden were filled with food, flower and toys stalls.
The floral Parliament structure created using thousands of colorful flowers was the showstopper. The Fern house, Glasshouse, Italian Garden, new garden flower pots drew the attention of the tourists.
The cultural programs showcased by the students of Hebron School kept the tourists entertained. Tourists showed great interest in clicking selfies near the mesmerising floral waterfall.
The entire garden was under the surveillance of three drones which will be monitored by a centralised team. A total of five drones were deployed by the district police to ensure smooth transit of the event and public safety.
