The conference is jointly hosted by the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety with the State of Baden- Wurttemberg and City of Heidelberg between May 21 to 25 at Heidelberg, Germany.
CCMC Commissioner and Special Officer, Sravan Kumar is one among the members of the delegation of Government of India, Ministry of Housing and Urban affairs and the only Corporation Commissioner to be selected to attend this conference.
The other members of the delegation being the Joint secretary of Smart city Mission, Kunal Kumar, Assistant Director of Amrut Mission, Neha Singh and Advisors and experts from GIZ.
The Conference aims to bring together leaders and decision-makers from countries, regions and cities as well as stakeholders and experts from around the world.Through interactive discussions, ICCA 2019 aims to strengthen mitigation measures by improving coordination and cooperation across all levels of government.
Senior members from governments and high-ranking representatives of international organisations, initiatives and networks will discuss ways to improve coordination and cooperation across all levels of government, in order to strengthen mitigation measures.
At a concrete level, ICCA 2019 will be a milestone in the run-up to the UN Climate Action Summit to be held in September 2019, providing a decisive moment for preparing the summit’s deliverables for the Infrastructure, Cities and Local Action work stream.
