Coimbatore : In yet another brazen murder, a 26-year-old man was stabbed to death by a gang in Podanur on Tuesday.
John Britto (26) along with his friends were at a TASMAC bar at Podanur on Monday night. While they were consuming alcohol, their gang got into a verbal fight with another gang. After a scuffle, both the gangs dispersed from the TASMAC bar.
Later, John Britto, left to his house located at Sriram Nagar, Podanur.
Shortly, after Britto left, the opposite gang have reported to have followed him to his residence and stabbed him to death in front of his parents. Another friend who was with John Britto is reported to have sustained grievous injuries in the incident.
The gang immediately escaped form the spot. The Podanur police rushed to the spot and commenced their investigation.
Upon inquiry, they found that the deceased John Britto is a repeat offender and has been linked with a murder and drugs case in the past.
A special team has been formed to nab the murderers. However, repeated murders and murder attempts in the city has left the public in shock. A week ago, gang was nabbed by police for murder attempt. The gang of four attempted to murder a person on Avinashi road in broad daylight.
