Close to five drones have been deployed to monitor security measures, regulate traffic halts and assess crime scenes, if any.
The Nilgiris: The Nilgiris district police have used drones to manage the large influx of people who have thronged the Ooty's botanical garden to visit the 123rd Flower Show. Close to five drones have been deployed to monitor security measures, regulate traffic halts and assess crime scenes, if any.
Prominent areas like garden road, charing cross, finger post, bus stand and boat house have been closely monitored by the drones. The police personnel in the control room are monitoring the footages sent by the drones to avoid any unforseen events and to pass information on traffic congestion to the police on ground.
This year, the annual flower show has been extended for five days starting from May 17-21. With another two days left for the conclusion of the 123rd flower show, lakhs of tourists are expected to visit the queen of hills in the upcoming days.
The security arrangements are being monitored by SP, Shanmugapriya.
