Coimbatore: Makkal Needhi Maiam's Candidate G. Mayilsami exercised his democratic right at Muthugoundenpudur Panchayat Middle School in Sulur assembly constituency on Sunday.
Addressing the media, G.Mayilsami said that "Though we are earlier disappointed by the district election officer's decision denying permission to our party President, Kamal Hassan to campaign at Sulur on May 17, the denial has transformed into votes for us. People's support for Makkal Needhi Maiam has been astounding."
He also added that compared to last term, there will be a surge in the voting percentage, as large number of people have thronged the booths to cast their votes. The results of the by-polls will have a huge impact, MNM Candidate Mayilsami noted.
