Coimbatore: Not missing to appeal to the voters of Sulur on the last day of the by-poll campaign, Minister S.P. Velumani who is the election in-charge for Sulur surmised all the acheivements of the AIADMK in Sulur and adjured to the voters to cast their votes to the two leaves symbol for development and prosperity.

"Kandasamy hails from Sulur whereas the opposition candidate, Pongalur Palanisamy and AMMK Sugumar hail from other regions. So, people have to decide who will understand the region's issues better. Looking at the support of the people, we are certain that Kandasamy will win with a whopping one lakh vote margin", opined the Minister at the closing day of the campaign at Anna Seerani Arangam in Sulur on Friday.

"In the past, people were deceived by the fancy promises and luring manifestos of DMK. Unlike, AIADMK, DMK cannot cheer on their good deeds. It was during DMKs regime, lakhs of Tamils were killed in the Srilankan war. The mysery is etched in the hearts of the people of Tamil Nadu", the Minister noted.

"Kalaignar’s family is in the 10th position of World’s richest people. Earlier, DMK was a notable party. Today they are a big corporate party working towards the upliftment of Kalaignar's family. The latest drama by Stalin of sitting in tea shop benches and slurping tea with the locals will yield no result", the Minister mocked.

Minister S.P. Velumani also self-commended his party for executing numerous welfare schemes including widening roads and constructing bridges across TN. "The 60 year long pending Avinashi – Athikadavu project was initiated by our CM. Similarly, measures will be taken to expedite the Coimbatore Airport Expansion, Anamalai Nallaru project, loan waivers to farmers worth Rs. 65 crores, restoration of water bodies and providing employment opportunities", he promised.

He concluded his speech by appealing the voters to cast their votes to Kandasamy on May 19.
