Due to heavy rains in the city last night, many trees and electric poles uprooted in the city. And, water stagnation was also reported in several parts of the city especially in the low lying areas.
At Sungam junction on Trichy road, a huge free uprooted and the traffic was stalled. Whereas the Avinashi road Flyover was unusable because of rain water stagnation.
The Commissioner ordered the corporation workers to speed up the disposing and cleaning activity to facilitate ease of traffic.
Executive Engineer Vimala and other corporation officials were present during the inspection.
