Madurai high Court rejects plea to ban Kamal from campaigning

Madurai : The Madurai High Court on Thursday rejected the plea to ban Actor-politician Kamal Haasan from campaigning for his party candidates in the upcoming by-polls to be held on May 19.

Madurai : The Madurai High Court on Thursday rejected the plea to ban Actor-politician Kamal Haasan from campaigning for his party candidates in the upcoming by-polls to be held on May 19. 

A case was filed by the Advocate Saravanan at Madurai High Court seeking a ban on Makkal Needhi Maiam's President Kamal Haasan from campaigning following hi controversial comments on Naduram Godse, referring him as "free India's first terroist' was a Hindu". 

On Wednesday a similar plea by BJP leader Aswini Upadhyay was rejected by the Delhi High Court.
