Coimbatore : The special team formed under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Balaji Saravanan (law & order) has nabbed the four member gang involved in the daylight murder attempt on Avinashi road on Tuesday.

The accused have been identified as Sathish, Hari, Dhanapal and Surya. Upon inquiry, all the four are repeat offenders.
The four member gang in two-wheelers waylaid Pradeep and Tamilvannan near CSI Chruch on Avinashi road. The duo are residents of Kamarajar Nagar in Ganapathy and were on their way to sign in the district court, as they were out on bail for their involvement in a criminal case.
The four member gang stabbed Pradeep and Tamil vannan using knives and other weapons and escaped from the spot.
The duo who suffered grievous injuries have been rushed to Coimbatore GH for treatment.
Upon the orders of Commissioner, Sumit Saran, a special team was formed under the direct supervision of DC, Balaji Saravanan. Assistant Commissioner, Ezhil Arasu and Race Course Police station inspector, Dheivasigamani, Rajni Kanth and seven others commenced an investigation using the CCTV footage and nabbed the accused within 24 hours of the murder attempt.
