Summer season will be pleasant in Nilgiris every May. Various summer festivals are organized during the month of May to attract lakhs of tourists who visit Nilgiris. Especially the Flower show that is organized at Ooty Botanical Garden is attracting tourists from across the world.
This year, 123rd flower show starts on May 17th and continues for 2 more days. District Collector Innocent Divya announced local holiday on May 17th to facilitate all the locals including Government staffs and educational institutions to enjoy the flower show.
District treasuries and sub-treasuries will work on this day with specific staffs to fulfil Government emergency duties. To compensate the May 17th holiday, June 1st will be a working day for the district”.
