National Commission of Scheduled Castes sends notice to District Collector and SP to reply within 15 days

Coimbatore: The National Commission of Scheduled Castes has sent a notice to the Coimbatore District Collector and the Superintendent of Police stating, "The National Commission for Scheduled Castes received a complaint from N Paneerselvam on May 9.


Coimbatore: The National Commission of Scheduled Castes has sent a notice to the Coimbatore District Collector and the Superintendent of Police stating, "The National Commission for Scheduled Castes received a complaint from N Paneerselvam on May 9. 

The Commission has decided to investigate into the matter, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it under Article 338 of the Constitution of India. You are hereby requested to submit the facts and information on the action taken on the allegations to the undersigned, within 15 days of receipt of this notice either by post or in person or by any other means of communication. The report should have details of action taken under the 'Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act' 1989 amended in 2015 and the rules 1995 amended in 2016 thereof. 

Please take notice that in case the Commission does not receive a reply from you within the stipulated time, the Commission may exercise the powers of civil courts conferred appearance in person or by representation before the Commission.”
