Supreme Court Lawyer files petition seeking president's rule in Tamilnadu

Supreme Court lawyer has filed a petition seeking President's rule in Tamilnadu as no details of the health condition of Chief Minister has been revealed. Rehan S Bell a lawyer has sent a petition to the president in which stated that it has been more than one week since

Chief Minister has been admitted in hospital. Till now no photographs have been released of her. Though it was said that she had a meeting with the officials no photographs of the same have not been made official.

The petition also stated that the current situation has also prompted the DMK party president M. Karunanidhi to release a statement asked to be updated about the health condition of the CM. He also requested the governor's action in this issue.

Through his petition this Supreme Court lawyer also has requested the President to ask for a report from the Tamilnadu governor regarding the health status of the Tamilnadu Chief Minister. Bell also stated that the CM should be given treatment by doctors of the All India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS) and the details should be made public.

The president should find out the health condition of the CM through the Governor. If it is found that she cannot function as CM the Tamilnadu government should be dismissed under the article 356 and president's rule should be implemented.

On the contrary, experts point out that even if the president treats this petition as valid, he cannot take any action without seeking a report from the Tamilnadu governor. Such action can only be taken if the government is found to be not functioning. As announcements are made daily from the government it cannot be considered that the government has become dysfunctional.
