HIV infected women dies in Coimbatore general hospital

Shanthi (31) from Othakaalmandapam, was diagnosed with HIV after she complained of severe stomach ache, seven months ago. Shanthi had been living with her sons, after her separation from her husband, 2 years back. She was undergoing critical treatment at the HIV ward Government hospital for the past seven months and unfortunately passed away today. The autopsy would be carried after three days, as the HIV Virus will not get destroyed immediately after death. It would be still alive for 24-36 hours after death, until the body changes to an unliveable condition, say doctors.
