Sultan, son of Muhaideen Abdul Kadar of Coimbatore had acquired the permit for cable connections at Ukkadam's Pullu Kaadu. The Slum Clearance Board had been paid up to Rs.4 lakhs for the same. But, allegedly cable operators Babu and Kunjaan had already provided cable connections in the same residential area of Pullu Kaadu. Based on the complaint from Sultan, officials from the Slum Clearance Board approached the city Police Commissioner to suspend all cable TV connections in the area.

Following this, officials from the Housing Board suspended the connections, today. The irate cable TV operators reportedly ended up in a heated argument with the Housing Board officials.
