Coimbatore : DMK candidates and activists were introduced at a meeting in Sulur, ahead of the upcoming by-election. The DMK Treasurer, Duraimurugan, the Sulur Election in charge, A V Velu, the former Central Minister, A Raja and KMDK General Secretary, Eswaran participated in the meeting.

Addressing the large crowds at the meeting, A V Velu said, "Duraimurugan is the only person after Kalaignar who has won all the elections that he contested. Hence, he is here today to give us some valuable inputs. Stalin sent Murugan (Duraimurugan) and Velu (A V Velu) to ensure Pongalur Palanisami wins this election."
Slamming S P Velumani on different issues, A V Velu said, "AIADMK is projecting S P Velumani as everything for the party in the Sulur constituency, leaving out S M Velusamy. We know Minister S P Velumani for years. He will feel very uncomfortable when he sees Duraimurugan in the Assembly. He was with a moustache when he entered the Assembly during the initial days, but now he has taken it off and coloured his hair after an astrologer’s suggestions. He is also walking around with turmeric applied in his hands. S P Velumani is a liar. Arappor Iyakkam has registered a case against him for illegal stocking of crores of money. AIADMK is taking steps to delay the local body elections. S P Velumani can deceive S M Velusamy of his party but not others," he added.
