Tirupur: CPI State Secretary Mutharsan has clarified that PMK leader Ramadoss has wrongly perceived his speech on Ponparappi incident.

Addressing the media in Tirupur, Mutharasan said, "The news that is been circulated on social media about my comments on Vanniyar community is manipulated. With regard to the demonstration conducted by secular progressive alliance condemning Ponparappi incident, PMK leader Ramadoss has released a statement which has put me in grief. Ramadoss should watch my entire speech which was released in social media before passing accusations on me".
The senior CPI leader urged that re-polling should be conducted in 10 polling booths including Paapirettipatti, Kadalur and Ponparappi, as suggested by election commission. "Fearing failure in the by-elections held in 18 legislative assembly constituencies and the by-polls to be in 4 more constituencies, the ruling party has disqualified 3 MLAs", he noted.
He also questioned as to why no action has been initiated against 11 MLAs including OPS who voted against his own party. "The Speaker should handle the issue in an unbiased way", he added.
Seconding him, CPI Deputy Secretary K. Subbarayan said, "PMK leader Ramadoss should watch the entire video and then come to a conclusion. He is accusing us for making derogatory comments on Vanniyar community, which is nothing but a rumour brewed in social media. We will take responsibility, if Ramadoss can prove his point".
