With probes underway in Coimbatore in connection with the bomb blasts, a few youth in the city who were arrested on the charges of having plotted to murder Arjun Sampath and a few other Hindu front leaders have come under the scanner. Asik, who was arrested in connection to the case said that attempts are being made to frame them as the masterminds behind the Sri Lanka bombings.
Speaking on this, Asik said, ‘We do not have any connection with the Sri Lankan bomb blast incidents. But, NIA officials are trying to make us the pawn in order to get a good name. As there was no proof for the accusation that we have connection with the banned groups, we are out on bail now. I know nothing about ISIS. Only after arresting me, I came to know about it. NIA officials did not investigate me regarding Srilanka bomb blasts. We are ready to cooperate if they commence any investigation," he reiterated.
