IND number introduced by the central government has not been implemented yet in Tamil Nadu. As per this scheme, fixing fake number plates with IND number is a legal crime. But many companies from Kerala and other states have begun this fraudulent business in Coimbatore. In the light of such registration plates being sold, Vilambara Paltholil Thayaraippalar Nalchchangam petitioned the City Police Commissioner to take immediate action against such firms. They also added that none of their association members are involved in this fraudulence.
