Coimbatore : Since candidates were in the process of filing nominations for Sulur by-polls in the Tahsildar Office since morning, the police denied entry for the Naam Tamilar party vehicle inside the campus. Only four of the party cadres were allowed to accompany their candidate Vijayaragavan who was to file his nomination papers.

Only four of the party cadres were allowed to accompany their candidate Vijayaragavan who was to file his nomination papers.
But since Pongalur Palanisami’s vehicle had been allowed to enter the campus, the Naam Tamilar party cadres began arguing with the police for not following rules fairly.
Following this, Pongalur Palanisami’s vehicle was stopped and denied permission to enter. He, along with other party members got off their vehicle and then entered the Tahsildar's office to file nominations.
