Coimbatore: Former DMK Minister Pongalur N Palanisamy who has been announced as the Secular progressive alliance candidate for the upcoming Sulur assembly constituency filed his nomination today at Sulur.
Coimbatore: Former DMK Minister Pongalur N Palanisamy who has been announced as the Secular progressive alliance candidate for the upcoming Sulur assembly constituency filed his nomination today at Sulur.

The two-term State Minister filed his nomination to Balakrishnan, Sulur election officer on Friday in the presence of Former minister E V Velu, Adhi Pervavai Founder, Adhiyamaan and other DMK functionaries.
Former Minister E.V. Velu along with former Union Minister, A. Raja who have been appointed as the election in-charge by the party have planned to camp at Sulur for election work. DMK President, M.K. Stalin will be campaigning for Pongalur Palanisamy at Sulur on May 5 and 6.
It may be recalled that the byelection in Sulur constituency comes after sitting AIADMK MLA R. Kanagaraj (67) died of cardiac arrest on March 21, 2019.
The bypolls in Sulur along with three other constituencies - Aravakurichi, Ottapidaram (SC), and Tirupparankundram will be held on May 19 and results will be announced on May 23 along with Parliamentary elections.
