Coimbatore: Ahead of the by-election in Sulur scheduled to be conducted on May 19, 1296 Government school teachers and Government employees of all departments have been appointed as polling booth officers for this election.
324 polling stations have been established for the Sulur election, out of which 8 booths are identified as sensitive booths. The first phase of the training program for the appointed polling booth officers is scheduled for April 28, at a private college in Sulur.
"1296 officers have been appointed to work as polling booth officers and voting officers for the Sulur by-election. None of these officers belong to the Sulur constituency,” noted an official.
