‘Election King' Noor Mohammed was in the guise of a clown and was the first to file nomination papers. Kadhiresan from Kal Iyakkam also filed his nomination on the very first day. Meanwhile, only one nomination has been filed on the second day.
A farmer Eswara Moorthy has also filed his nomination papers, while Thangevelu of Palladam filed his nomination on the fourth day. A total of seven nomination have been filed in four days, the unique feature being that the nominations were all of independent candidates.
DMK candidate Pongalur Palanisamy, Naam Tamilar candidate Vijayaragavan and Social activist Prabakaran are set to file their nomination papers tomorrow. With the weekend ahead, which are holidays, April 29 is the last day to file nominations. AMMK candidate Sukumar, AIADMK candidate Kandasami and the MNM candidate are expected to file their nominations on the last day.
