The outskirts of Gudalur which include Mudumalai, Oveli, Devarsolai, Marappalam, Nadukani are the areas which received heavy rainfall along with strong winds around midnight. Puliamparai village next to Marappalam which had thousands of banana trees were severely damaged due to the heavy rains which lashed the region for more than an hour. The house belonging to Kaattu Raja was completely damaged when a tree fell on the house.
