The CPM candidate for Coimbatore constituency P R Natarajan along with his family cast their votes in the first hour of polling at the Government Engineering College, here.
Addressing the media after excercising his franchise, P.R. Natarajan expressed that the much-awaited day has arrived and people have been sensitised enough with facts and information. People should cast their votes for him for a fair and secular governance."
He also noted that the VVPAT machine displayed the party name and symbol to whom he cast his votes. "The machine allows people to reaffirm, if their votes have been cast properly, which is appreciable", opined the communist candidate.
In a bid to boost the polling percentage in the constituency which was 68.4 percent in 2014 elections, the district administration has taken several measures, especially awareness among the public for all voters to cast their votes, this 17th parliamentary elections.
