Coimbatore : The 13th annual 'Nurture Camp' by Siruthuli has brought together more than 120 students and 30 teachers of various educational institutions to cherish and understand the importance of nature.
Coimbatore : The 13th annual 'Nurture Camp' by Siruthuli has brought together more than 120 students and 30 teachers of various educational institutions to cherish and understand the importance of nature.
The week-long camp commenced on April 15 and will end by April 20. The participants will be sensitised on the importance of nature, protection of earth, sensitizing the importance of water bodies, planting the importance of saplings, avoiding plastic usages etc. And, experts from the field of environment, natural specialist, environmentalist and social activist will be addressing the students and also provide them hands on training.
During the camp the children are given an opportunity to experience several eco-friendly activities like, field trip to the water bodies of River Noyyal, home composting programmes with special focus on kitchen & terrace gardens and special hands-on experience on recycling and reuse of waste.
"At Siruthuli, we are doing our best to ensure that we leave a cleaner and greener world for our children. As responsible citizens, we feel that it is our moral responsibility to instill sustainable values in our children with respect to the protection and conservation of Mother Earth", said a release from Siruthuli.
The release further added that "The camp is fashioned in such a way to imbibe environmental awareness/culture amongst the student community and it intends to create a cycle for nature conservation through children-parents-public."
