The DGP instructed the police officers to carry out effective patrolling in areas identified as sensitive.
The higher officials were advised to take tighten security measures to ensure peaceful conduct of polls and aid public exercise their franchise.
West Zone IG K Periaiah, Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Sumit Sharan, Tiruppur City Police Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar, Salem range DIG Senthil Kumar, Coimbatore Superintendent of Police Sujith Kumar were also present at the meeting.
