Coimbatore: To highlight National Voters Day being celebrated across the country today, the District Collector T N Hariharan flagged off an awareness rally at the Nirmala College for Women.
Students who took part in the rally carried placards with quotes stressing on the importance of casting votes. The rally ended at the Race Course. Later, the Collector addressed the gathering reiterating again the importance of casting the vote. He also distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions which were conducted, today.
In the oath-taking ceremony held at the Corporation office, officials took the oath led by the Corporation Commissioner Dr K Vijay Karthikeyan.
