According to eyewitness, Arul Prakasam (56) running a grocery store at Rathinapuri was waylaid by two bike-borne miscreants when he locked up his store for the day and left home with his cash bag.
One of the bike-borne assailant who was riding the pillion tried to snatch away the money bag from Arulprakasam, when the latter refused to let go of his bag and fought with the assailant. In the melee, Arulprakasam was dragged along with the bike. However, he managed to pull them down from the bike
Alerted by his cries for help, the passersby and the residents rushed to his side and nabbed the culprits. Later, the duo were handed over to the Rathinapuri police, who are investigating the case.
