“Black flag demonstration against 10% reservation bill during PM Modi's visit to Madurai", says Thirumurugan Gandhi

A black flag demonstration would be organized against Prime Minister Modi's visit to Madurai on January 27, said Thirumurugan Gandhi, Leader of the May 17 movement on Tuesday.

Various political entities who are against the recently passed 10% reservation bill for economically weaker sections in general category have joined hands to show black flags to PM Narendra Modi during his visit on January 27 to Madurai. 

Commenting on this Founder of May 17 Movement Thirumurugan Gandhi said on Tuesday, " Close to 160 organisations will take part in the black flag protest planned to show our opposition to the 10% reservation bill. Permission has been sought from the police to hold the protest".

He also pointed that as NOTA votes were polled by people from the upper caste, the centre had categorically announced this 10% reservation to gain their votes. 

PM Modi will visit Madurai on Sunday to lay the foundation stone of AIIMS. Following which he will address in a public party meeting. 

City police commissioner S Davidson Devasirvatham and senior police officers inspected the Mandela Nagar Ground which is the venue. 

Commenting on the Loyola College issue, Thirumurugan Gandhi pointed "Loyola College was put under undue pressure for hosting a painting exhibition which drew strong opposition from the right-wing groups and BJP".
