Coimbatore : Kudisai Maatru Vaariya Kudiyiruppu Makkal Paadhugaappu Iyakkam staged a protest demanding action against a bakery owner who allegedly assaulted a youth, humiliating him by his caste name.

Around 50 members of the Kudisai Maatru Vaariya Kudiyiruppu Makkal Paadhugaappu Iyakkam led by Ramakrishan of TPDK and other party members staged a protest opposite the Red Cross Society here. During the protest, they urged action to be taken against a bakery owner who allegedly assaulted Prasanth (20) of Ganapathi, here.
"When Prasanth went to the Housing Board Unit to meet his relatives, an argument broke out between him and the owner of a bakery situated there. The bakery owner assaulted Prasanth and his friends, and humiliated them on caste grounds. Now Prasanth is being treated at the Coimbatore Government Hospital. So, stern action should be taken against the bakery owner," demanded the protesters.
